Your letters burn
Perpetually
In the crypt
Of my subconsciousness—
The flames
Only extinguished
By your smile.

Are you lost?
Because I’ve seen you
Walk infinite circles
In my thoughts.

Whatever happened
To the time machine
I built—
The one that would take me back
To your heart?

"I have decided to follow Jesus
No turning back
No turning back."

How do you do?

Your face
Reminds me
Of poems
I once wrote
And tore—
Letters in the air.
I inhale
And it all comes back.
i exhale
And they’re gone forever
Until you look
Into my eyes again.

A thousand roses
For the thousand times
You thought about me.

A thousand tears
For the thousand times
I threw each one away

Now that you’re gone.

Madame, Monsieur if you insist
I’ll make my world resound
Like how a couplet exists
Yet with much rage
I say these words
And refuse to turn the page.
No sir, not yet, I shan’t.
Into this pixelized cocoon
My heart and soul I will decant.
Flesh and blood, I hear?
Yet quite figuratively,
Reality unfolding much like the way I fear.
The echo of letters unpronounced
Resonates and stings within
Causing once pure gold to rust.

Have you truly forgotten
The path on which we’d once trodden?

I saw myself
In your eyes and
You danced
In my hands.
You chased me
And I let you.
You were
My light and
We were happy.
To you
I was yours.
To you
We were everything.

But you left.

Cause you were never
Really mine.

The strong whip
Of breath
and the piercing tears
from the weeping
heavens
entrap men
and they question:
why? another tear falls
and a storm wages
within them.
